In order to create a productive and effective organisation to conduct all activities of BOTAŞ related with the design, engineering, land acquisition and construction works for the Turkish Section of the BTC P/L Project, the BTC P/L Project Directorate has been established within BOTAŞ on January 5th, 2000.

An ISO Committee has also been established within BOTAŞ, upon the efforts of which, the BTC P/L Project Directorate was granted ISO9001-Quality Management Systems, ISO14001-Environmental Management Systems and OHSAS18001-Health and Safety Management Systems standard certificates, on 21 March 2001. The BTC P/L Project Directorate is the first public sector institution in Turkey to hold these three certificates and the first institution in the world to obtain all three certificates simultaneously.
